Our Vision
“A NEW CHURCH IN A NEW BUILDING”
This vision has 3 parts, which hang together as a whole:-
- A new church
As befits a new church, that we review all that we do and how we do it, as if we were beginning anew, which, in some respects, we are. All of us have input into this journey, which involves stepping out of our comfort zone. It will be an ongoing process, probably taking years.
- A new name
It is important that we retain our affiliation to the Baptist Union, but it is equally
important that our name as a church represents our commitment to new life. We therefore
propose that the name of the church be amended to:-
FAREHAM BAPTIST NEW LIFE CHURCH
and that a sign showing this new name be put up on the outside of the Sanctuary facing
the road. This new name a) retains our Baptist links b) changes our view of ourselves
and c) makes the community sit up and take notice that here is a new church. A new
name for a new church. See Isaiah 62:2-
- A new building
We propose that all our existing premises, apart from the Sanctuary, be demolished and a new building erected, better suited for our future ministry as a new church.
